 Food Insecurity Services

At JFCS, our trusted staff, volunteers and partners work together to stop hunger with a hands-on approach to programs designed for the unique needs of our community.

Our goal is to develop sustainable lifelines for individuals and families that address not only food insecurity but their total well-being. We work to establish a strong plan so that each client can grow and make changes in other areas of life to achieve long-range sustainability and the best overall health possible.

Hunger affects people from all walks of life and exists in every single county in the United States. In fact, 1 in 4 people face food insecurity.

This often-unseen epidemic prevents us from reaching our full potential as a truly healthy community.

At JFCS, we invest the time and resources necessary to ensure the best care possible for all who call upon us. We get to know our clients so that we can create customized food options that meet their dietary, allergy, disabilities, and health concerns. From Kosher Meals on Wheels to our Corner Market, our dedicated staff and leadership continue to anticipate and meet the ever-growing gaps that families and individuals struggle to close every day.

JFCS Kosher Corner Market Food Pantry: Providing Nutritional Support & Building Strong Foundations

At JFCS, we understand the challenges faced by individuals and families in our community. Our Kosher Corner Market is dedicated to serving the diverse needs of our local community by ensuring individuals and families have access to suitable food options. We understand the importance of accommodating different cultural and religious practices, and we strive to create an inclusive environment of shared assistance for all. In doing so, we take great care in providing a wide range of food items that align with the dietary needs and preferences of everyone in our community. Your well-being and choice are our top priorities, and we are here to provide a helping hand to everyone who seeks it.

We provide a “choice pantry” experience, similar to online shopping, allowing individuals to schedule in advance and pick up during their designated time slot. This not only ensures convenience but also upholds the utmost confidentiality, as individuals can select items tailored to their specific needs and preferences, including personal care items like laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, diapers, and more.

In partnership with the Community Food Bank of NJ, our Corner Market Kosher Food Pantry ensures that all food items are sealed, up-to-date, and of the highest quality. Our inventory is continuously changing, offering a diverse selection of shelf-stable, refrigerated, and dry items. We take pride in adapting to the needs of our clients and constantly expanding our offerings to provide a wide variety of nutritious options.

Our Corner Market Kosher Food Pantry also caters to seasonal and holiday-specific needs. We provide special meal items for occasions such as Jewish holidays, Thanksgiving, and other religious or cultural celebrations. We also offer summer meal packs for children, ensuring that they receive nourishment during school breaks.

At JFCS, we recognize that individuals may require assistance for an extended period. Our Corner Market is here for as long as our clients need our support. We prioritize a sustainability plan, understanding that when basic needs are met, individuals can focus on other aspects of their lives. Additionally, we recognize that individuals may face broader challenges, which is why we also offer gift cards and referrals to government services and resources to provide comprehensive support for our community members. We advocate helping families and individuals address problems and challenges that have led to their food insecurity in order to move to a place where they can regain their self-sufficiency and individuals can grow and thrive.

Food pantry appointments can be made and all orders can be placed online.
