David Goodman, a CPA, has been actively involved with JFCS for 25+ years, having served in many different capacities. On the Board of Trustees, he was Treasurer, Vice President, President, and chaired multiple different committees across the years. David has been active in numerous other organizations, including the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey, Jewish Federations of North America, Tulane University Center for Public Service, and Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies. With JFCS, David continues a family tradition – his parents were longtime Board members. David also met his wife, Hope, through their parents’ mutual connection to JFCS. David and Hope are Northern NJ residents and are the proud parents of 4 daughters.

Ronit Arginteanu was born in Jerusalem, Israel and has lived in Israel, Iran and the US. She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and has worked as a transactional attorney at law firms such as Shearman & Sterling, O’Melveny & Myers, and Proskauer, Rose. Ronit shares three wonderful children and a wayward schnoodle with her husband, Marc Arginteanu, who is a neurosurgeon and accomplished writer. Ronit started delivering KMOW meals and shabbat meals on behalf of JFCS in 2022, and has been a member of the budget and finance committee since 2023. She is honored to have become a JFCS Board member in 2024. Ronit has also been a Cresskill Board of Education Member and held leadership roles at Temple Emanu-El of Closter and various pro-bono law clinics. She enjoys gardening, beekeeping, reading and tennis in her free time.

Ariel Bayewitz connected with JFCS through its annual Ride to Fight Hunger bike ride. His involvement spans years, including the celebration of his eldest daughter’s Bat Mitzvah in 2019 through the ride. Professionally, Ariel serves as a Vice President of Health Economics at Elevance Health, the second-largest US health insurance company. Ariel’s areas of expertise include reimbursement, payment innovation, and medical economics. He holds 2 US patents in related fields. Ariel earned a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University. Ariel and his wife Tirza (who shares a deep commitment to JFCS through the bike ride), grew up in Teaneck and are now raising their 3 children in the town as well.

Lindsay Braverman Forman serves as the Development Committee Chair and sits on the Executive Committee of JFCS. She joined the volunteer ranks of JFCS in 2020 as a member of the Programs and Human Services Committee. During her professional career, she worked in publicity and communications roles for Walt Disney Pictures and Disney Theatrical Group for 13 years. Currently, she owns her own PR company, volunteers for her children’s elementary school, and remains an active volunteer on the National Council for her sorority, Sigma Delta Tau. Lindsay and her husband, Daniel Forman, live in Glen Rock with their two wonderful sons and are members of the Glen Rock Jewish Center.

Sima Kern was a KMOW driver from 2010-2011 and joined the Board of Directors of JFCSNNJ in 2019. She currently serves as the Immediate Past President. Sima was an active Yavneh Academy (Paramus) Board of Directors member and chaired the school’s Board of Education from 2010-2014. Her professional past includes serving as the former Editor of Scholastic’s Parent & Child magazine and Senior Editor of Sesame Street Magazine and Parents’ Guide. Currently, she is an education policy consultant and freelance writer. She holds a master’s degree in developmental psychology and a doctorate in education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Sima and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Kern, live in Teaneck and are members of Netivot Shalom and Young Israel of Teaneck. They have three wonderful children and three (even more) wonderful grandchildren.

Ilene joined the JFCS board in June 2024. She is currently on the Development committee and has been part of the Ride to Fight Hunger committee for the past 2 years.

Ilene is a pediatrician and has been working for the majority of her career at community health centers that serve the uninsured and Medicaid population. This has been a longtime passion of hers and she enjoys offering healthcare to anyone that needs it regardless of their finances or immigration status. She is also on the library board in Fair Lawn and is one of her district’s representatives of the Democratic Committee. Ilene is a past president of the Sisterhood of her synagogue and is still a board member who heads up programming. She is also an active member of their Social Action Committee.

Ilene has been married for 32 years and has 2 children, Sammy, a biomedical engineer and Leah, a graduate student in her last year of a Psy.D program in child psychology. She is a long-time runner and loves hiking, biking, reading, and Pilates, and also has an obsession with figure skating.

David Singer joined the JFCS Programs and Human Services committee in 2020-2021, the board in 2022-2023, and the executive committee as a Vice President and chair of the Programs and Human Services committee in 2023-2024. David has been an insurance broker since 1987, for over 25 years as part of a boutique firm in Teaneck, and now as a Senior Managing Director of Risk Strategies, the 15th largest insurance broker. David’s drive to make the world a better place led to his book, Six Simple Rules for a Better Life, published in 2010, about ways to be happier, healthier, and more. David has also frequently spoken on those subjects including for Year Up, a non-profit he is passionate about, which provides a variety of skills-based job training programs to inner-city young adults, who are then matched with employers. David grew up in Teaneck and for over 30 years, David and his wife Marcie have lived in Demarest, where they raised their three grown children.

Lisa Diamond Berger joined the Board of JFCSNNJ in July 2025 and serves on the Business, Finance and Audit committee. Lisa’s involvement with the agency began in 2023 as a weekly volunteer at the Corner Market food pantry and a fill-in KMOW driver. During her professional career, Lisa worked as a CPA in public accounting before joining her sister Dara at Globe Scientific, the company founded by their parents, Beverly and Milton Diamond. During her 23-year tenure at Globe, Lisa handled various responsibilities including accounting, purchasing, inventory, contracts, and HR. Upon the sale of the Company in 2022, Lisa was Executive Vice President and now sits on the Board of its parent company, GSI Holdings Group. Lisa and her husband David live in Woodcliff Lake; they are members of Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley and the proud parents of two wonderful children: Noah and Addison.

David Bindelglass joined the JFCSNNJ Board in 2024 after serving a year on the agency’s Development Committee. Previosuly, he has served on the Board at the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey and has been part of several of their committees, including Jewish Educational Services and co-chaired with Gale Bindelglass and Mr. and Mrs. David Waldman. David is a financial advisor with FourStar Wealth Advisors, Wayne, NJ. David lives with his wife Gale in Franklin Lakes where they have raised two grown children, Evan and Perry.

Elizabeth (Liz) Cole joined the Board of JFS of North Jersey, a predecessor agency to JFCSNNJ (JFCS), in 2010 and served as its Treasurer for several years. Liz currently chairs the Governance & Nominating Committee and sits on the Executive Committee of JFCS. During her professional career, Liz worked as a commercial real estate portfolio manager representing the interests of pension plan investors in commercial properties throughout the U.S. She sits on the Women’s Philanthropy Board of the Jewish Federation of North Jersey and volunteers weekly at Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative, a non-profit medical clinic in Hackensack. Liz and her husband, Dr. David Kahn, live in Wyckoff, are members of Temple Beth Rishon, and are the proud parents of two young adult children.

Rich Feldman has been a KMOW driver for more than 20 years and joined the Board of Directors of JFCSNNJ in 2022. Rich serves an Educational Counselor for MIT, interviewing applicants for admission. He is President of Feldman Research Lab, a market research firm that serves clients in the media industry. Rich holds a Master’s degree in marketing and Bachelor’s in Political Science from MIT. Rich and his wife Annette live in Teaneck and are members of Congregation Beth Aaron where Rich is Gabbai Tzedakah and runs the lulav sale. They have three children scattered around the US.

Shira Feuerstein began her involvement with JFCS as a volunteer KMOW driver and host of Night of 100 Dinners for JFS Bergen. After chairing that fundraiser for the agency and sitting on the programs and services committee, Shira joined the board of JFS Bergen in 2009. The Feuerstein Family founded the JFCS Ride to Fight Hunger, which has become an annual community event. Shira was Board President from 2015-2018, helped facilitate the merger of the two community agencies (JFS Bergen and JFS North Jersey), and was the first President of the merged agency. Shira is a Berrie Fellow, volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels North Jersey, member of Women’s Philanthropy Board of Jewish Federation and also serves on the Board of Jewish Federation. Shira and her husband Robert live in Alpine and are members of Temple Emanu-El in Closter. Shira and Robert have two children and a precious granddaughter.

Sarita (Sari) Scherer Gross joined the Board of JFS of North Jersey, a predecessor agency to JFCSNNJ, in 2003. She has served on the Executive Committee since the merger and currently chairs the Personnel Committee. In her professional life, Sari has worked in the not for profit world. For the last 29 years she has been executive director of Flames of Giving, an organization she founded in 1995. Sari has served on the board of the YM-YWHA/ Wayne, Federation Apartments in Paterson, as past president of Women’s Philanthropy, on the Jewish Federation of North Jersey board as well as the executive board of the JCRC. She is a Berrie Fellow and presently the chair of the Volunteer Center at JFNNJ. Sari is a writer and gardener (when the deer and wildlife are not eating everything). Sari and her husband, Steve, live in Wayne and are members of Temple Beth Tikvah. They are parents to 2 wonderful grown children and their partners.

Deena Jarashow joined the board of JFCSNNJ in June 2024. She is currently serving on the Programs and Human Services Committee. Deena is the daughter of Holocaust survivors and her introduction to JFCSNNJ began by attending Cafe Europa programs with her parents who also receive Kosher Meals on Wheels. Deena graduated from Stern College with a degree in Education and has a law degree from NYU. After working for a few years in law, she has devoted her time to her family and various Jewish educational institutions and causes. She served as the Director of the Leah Sokoloff Nursery School of Shomrei Torah, a volunteer position, for over 20 years. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Yavneh Academy in Paramus and serves as the Executive Vice President of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn where she and her husband, Daniel, have lived for over 30 years. She is the proud mother of six adult children and three in-law children and grandmother to a crew of grandchildren who keep her very busy and happy.

Daniel Miller joined the Board of JFCSNNJ in 2023 and has served on the Business Finance and Audit committee for several years. During his professional career, Daniel worked in Accounting, Corporate Finance including Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, and advisory for companies in financial distress. Daniel also sits on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey as well as on the National Board of Directors for AMIT Children, a non-profit dedicated to improving public education of 42,000 children throughout Israel. Daniel and his wife, Elana, live in Teaneck, are members of Keter Torah, and are the proud parents of two girls, Kira and Raquelle.

Ron Rosensweig joined the board of JFS of North Jersey , a predecessor agency of JFCS NNJ, in June of 2011. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Board and in that capacity serves on the Executive Committee and the Endowment Committee. He also sits on the Budget & Audit, FRD and Governance & Nomination committees. His wife Linda is a former board member of JFS NNJ and a long time KMOW driver. He also sits on the Board of the Jewish Federation of NNJ where he is a former President of its predecessor agency, the Jewish Federation of North Jersey. He also is a member of Federation’s JCRC Committee and its Endowment Committee. He currently is a Commissioner on the Bergen County Human Relations Commission. He is a former president of the Bergen County Soccer Official Association entering his 41st year as an active high school official. He is also the former president of the Northern Counties Soccer Association and remains on the Board as the Referee Development Chair. He currently practices law at Amster & Rosensweig, PC in Waldwick, NJ. He and Linda are long term members of Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff, where he is a past president and current Ritual Committe member. He and Linda have two daughters and four grandsons.

Rachel Scheff began her affiliation with JFCS as a member of the legacy JFS of Northern New Jersey board. She volunteered as a KMOW driver 2015-2016. Along with sitting on multiple committees, she has chaired the Programs and Human Services committee and served a three-year term as Board President from 2020-2023. Additionally, Rachel serves as the Chair of the JFCS Endowment Board. During her professional career, Rachel worked as the Personnel Director at Blue Rill Day Camp and currently volunteers at Hackensack University Medical Center, through Sunrise on Wheels, which provides “camp” for children receiving in or out-patient oncology treatment. A lifelong NJ girl, Rachel and her husband, Andy, live in Wyckoff and adore spending time with their children and delicious granddaughter.
